Fort Stewart Georgia Federal Credit Union celebrated its 43rd birthday in 2007 . . . and entered its 44th year with several exciting changes.  The Member-owned credit union unveiled its new name and logo today.  The contemporary new name/logo includes the promise of “lighting your financial future” to current and prospective credit union Members.

“GeoVista Credit Union is proud and excited to introduce a series of changes designed to better serve our Members and the community,” said Elaine Tuten, credit union CEO  “It’s also with a great deal of pride that we introduce our new name and logo,” continued Tuten.  “The name sums up the way we build relationships with Members in two simple words:  ‘worldwide and vision’ these words convey our commitment to help Members in every stage of their life, wherever they live . . . and that we’ll attempt to meet them at the exact level of their needs.  Members will experience that commitment with each visit:  that’s part of our promise to them!  We’ve also shortened our name to make it easier to say and easier to remember ‘GeoVista Credit Union’ – the name we will use as we go forward.”

Why a name Change?
To many members, the name Fort Stewart evokes a sense of pride and belonging. In the communities we serve, the Fort Stewart name has strong and positive recognition.

So why change? Credit Union membership is now open to more people than ever, and many who wish to join the Credit Union believe they’re not eligible. A name change will eliminate this confusion, and help make your Credit Union stronger – it benefits all members when we have a growing and diverse membership.

As we move into the future, we won’t forget the past.
Our new name – GeoVista Credit Union – honors our long alliance with the Military and expresses our core values. In fact, the words Worldwide and Vision were the basis for our new name. We believe GeoVista symbolizes the very best of our past, present and future. Your Credit Union has undergone many changes in the past 44 years, but our commitment to serving you and providing affordable financial services remains constant.

Your FSGFCU Checks, Credit Cards, Check Card/Debit Cards are valid and can still be used.
While our name change will not affect how you do business with the Credit Union, we understand you’ll have questions. We want to assure you that although our name is changing, everything else will remain the same. Your Credit Union has not been sold or merged with another financial institution. Our board, management and staff remain the same. Your FSGFCU checks, credit cards, check/debit cards are valid and can still be used. Your account numbers, direct deposits, payroll & automatic payments remain the same. Your online banking, bill pay and e-statement information remain the same. Only our name is changing.
